FIFA 16: THE COVER STARS ARE REVEALED

Jordan Henderson is picked ahead of Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane to star alongside Lionel Messi.

EA SPORTS today announced that newly appointed Liverpool FC captain Jordan Henderson has been voted by fans to be the EA SPORTS FIFA 16 UK cover athlete alongside global pack star Lionel Messi.

Henderson, the first Liverpool player to feature on the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise front cover, saw off competition from Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Thibaut Courtois as more than nine million fans around the world voted for the first time in franchise history for their favourite player to be on the FIFA 16 cover.

Jordan Henderson was today named as Liverpool's new captain following Steven Gerrard's departure for MLS club LA Galaxy.

The midfielder, 25, has become an integral part of the Anfield side after moving there from Sunderland in 2011.
