Final Fantasy 7 Remake: 10 Story Changes That Have Already Happened
4. AVALANCHE Fights Jenova
One of the most striking moments from the remake's most recent trailer is the revelation that, in addition to many of FF7's core mythos being put in the forefront of the remake, a big one appears to be looming in the background.
Jenova, who is only seen briefly in the Midgar section of the original game, is shown in full-force. When the party first fights Jenova in the 1997 original, it's well after they've left Midgar and boarded a cruise ship en route to Costa del Sol.
In the remake, the party is going to battle against Jenova in what appears to be the Shinra building on their way to rescue Aerith. It's possible that this Jenova battle might replace the fight against Sample: HO512, a monstrous creation of Hojo that the party fights after recruiting Red XIII.
Jenova's holding tank has also been given a massive facelift, serving as the centrepiece of a confrontation between Cloud and Sephiroth. The party is then seen in combat with the new and improved Jenova, showing off a disturbing, almost Lovecraftian vibe.
