6. A Better Morale System
Sports InteractiveIn the changing rooms and managerial offices of the FM universe, many managers fail to inspire their charges. Though it's a fact of life that not every manager is blessed with the gift of Churchillian oratory, this curse seems to apply to many more virtual managers than real life ones. But why is this? Basically, it's because the morale system and all its influencing factors is still an absolute lottery. It's the equivalent of fumbling for objects in the dark there's no rhyme or reason to how your players might react to your wording and tone of voice beyond your assistant occasionally mentioning it before a private conversation. This makes for a motivational crapshoot, where you don't quite know if you're acting out the equivalent of Any Given Sunday, or flipping off your players while insulting their grandparents. It might seem inconsequential in nature, but when you need a result in a cup final, accidentally letting off a verbal stink-bomb can be the difference between victory and defeat. It probably wouldn't be that hard to sort out just give the manger information regarding a player's body language and mood before you talk to them, and they can judge for themselves what wording and tone to take.
