9. Seek Out Optional Bosses

As well as optional areas (more on them later), God of War is introducing bosses that you can seek out and take down on your adventure. More than just disposable side content, by the sounds of things, these additional, hidden brutes are going to provide some of the toughest challenges in the whole game, meaning that beating them will be of the utmost importance for players wanting to prove their mettle.

Early reports seem to indicate that, perhaps unsurprisingly, the spectacular boss fights easily provide some of the best action set pieces in the whole game. Though the camera is more intimate, the scale of the fights themselves don't seem to have changed, with spectacular finishers and superhero-style clashes all being done in-game, rather than in cinematics or quick-time events.

Consequently, these additional bosses will no doubt become the real reason why everyone wants to explore every nook and cranny of the game's semi-open world, taking up a good chunk of side content.
