GTA V: Rockstar Confirm Release Date

Rockstar have today confirmed that Grand Theft Auto will be released next year, at some point during Spring - confirming a long-gestated rumour that a 2012 release window would come too soon for the sandbox epic. The developer released a new update on the game via their official site, confirming that the expect the game to "launch worldwide spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3." There was no mention of the PC version of the game - or other rumoured formats. The press release also included a little bit of information on the game - though nothing we haven't heard before:
Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond €“ from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean.
Wait... tops of the mountains? Depths of the ocean? So, does that mean we're definitely going to be able to go hiking and diving? Rockstar also took the opportunity to confirm that Grand Theft Auto V will be available for pre-order everywhere from 5th November, and that fans can expect a host of new information to arrive at some point in November. Exciting times. The press release also came with a brand new piece of artwork, which can be seen below, and which Rockstar say will be made available as a downloadable desktop version very soon.
