GTA V: Top 4 Rumours And Theories

1. DLC That Adds Las Venturas And San Fierro

Las Venturas in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

GTA: San Andreas was (And still is) a huge game.

Gone were the days of a lone city in GTA III and GTA: Vice City, Rockstar included three massive cities in SA. Those cities were Los Santos (Modeled after Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco), and Las Venturas (Las Vegas) unlocked in that order over the course of the game.

Los Santos was such a sprawling and detailed city that it made the greyish look of San Fierro and the bright lights of Las Venturas feel empty and unfinished. See Rockstar didn't have enough time to give San Fierro and Las Venturas the same amount of attention and detail as Los Santos had. There wasn't much to see in San Fierro and all the casinos and lights of Las Venturas looked really cool but there was only one casino you could actually go inside. This is why when Rockstar decided to revisit San Andreas in GTA V they decided to only include one city (And its surrounding countryside) and that city is Los Santos. Judging by what we've seen so far it seems like a good choice, but is it possible we could still see the others in some way possibly as DLC?

First off the world Rockstar has created for GTA V is already huge. The world itself is bigger than GTA III, GTA: San Andreas, GTA IV, and Red Dead Redemption combined with room to spare. They could make these two cities DLC's for GTA V itself and introduce a new character with both of them. Those would definitely be DLC's I would not mind paying for. However this would take quite awhile and might not fit even into GTA V considering its already massive world. Rockstar have never added on to their original maps in their games, choosing rather to just tell different stories inside of the same map. Which is fine since we have gotten some pretty good add-ons including the likes of GTA IV's The Ballad of Gay Tony and Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare (A zombie DLC for V wouldn't be that bad of an idea either).

What is much more likely is that those two cities could come to GTA Online as DLC. Rockstar has expressed that their ambition is to simulate the entire world in GTA Online and that GTA V's map is just a jump off point. The entire world? Sounds pretty crazy, but since GTA Online's data is stored in the cloud it is possible. This also invites the question of porting GTA Online to next-gen consoles, because if their goal is to simulate the entire world that might take some time. The PS3 and Xbox 360 won't be around forever.

So we're probably not going to see Las Venturas and San Fierro in GTA V, but somewhere down the line we might be able to visit them in GTA Online. Just probably not in the near future.

Probability: Unlikely
