HALO 4 Will Be Released on the Xbox 360

Xbox 360 still has one more Halo game in it before the titles move to the next generation consoles.

Halo 4 is being developed for the Xbox 360 and not for the next gen Microsoft console. There had been a lot of speculation as to whether Halo 4 would be released as a launch title for the next generation Microsoft console,which is being rumored to be released late 2012 or early 2013 but this is not the case. O'Connor confirmed the news:

"Halo 4 will be on Xbox 360 and use a modified core of the Halo engine(s), Not really a singular engine since it goes through fairly radical evolutions all the time."
In addition, he mentions the game will run on a modified existing version of the previous Halo engine, instead of a totally new one that was built from the ground up. No other news about Halo 4 has been released at this point; but seeing as though the game will be launching on the Xbox 360 and 2012 may be the last year for the system we may see a lot of news on Halo 4 at next years E3.
