It may have fallen under the radar, but the Halo franchise has burst back onto the scene in spectacular fashion with the announcement that Xbox One exclusive Halo 5: Guardians will be released on October 27th 2015. The word 'blockbuster' is thrown around a lot these days, but Guardians looks to be exactly that. It has the potential to be an instant classic that can reward both hardcore fans and newcomers to the series, and with two trailers released to celebrate the announcement - one from the perspective of the Master Chief and one from Spartan Locke - the central question being asked is "Who is the hunter and who is the hunted?" The founder of 343 Industries Bonnie Ross said in a statement:
We wanted Halo 5: Guardians to be the game that pays off the epic promise of the Halo universe in scope and scale and drama. We want to amaze players with the sheer size of the worlds and battles theyll experience, even as they question everything they thought they knew about its heroes, marvels and mysteries.Admittedly, it sounds pretty awesome but hype is a dangerous thing - just look at the mixed reaction towards Destiny - and fans will still hope their wishes are heard and 343 delivers a game that is as good as it can be.
