LEGEND OF ZELDA SKYWARD SWORD Will Have A Villain Not Named Ganon

The main villain of Skyward Sword will be Lord Ghirahim who has shown up in some of the more recent trailers of the game.

Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword seems to be shaking things up from the norm with the announcement that Ganon will not be in the new game according to series producer Eiji Aonuma.

"Ganon typically appears in a Zelda game when the story is centered around the Triforce... "This time around, the Triforce sort of takes on a different meaning and plays a different role in the story. So because of that, Ganon will not appear."
The main villain of Skyward Sword will be Lord Ghirahim who has shown up in some of the more recent trailers of the game. According to Eiji Aonuma there will be other shake-ups with the normal gameplay of the Zelda franchise.
"the Master Sword has been something that Link seeks out, finds, and uses to destroy Ganon... This time around it's more centered on the creation of the Master Sword - the way it was born, so to speak. Link kind of forges it along the way. It's more centred on that, which is a different pattern than we have had in a lot of ways."
One other thing Eiji Aonuma mentioned that I found very interesting was Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword will actually take place before Ocarina of Time, however there was no more information given to the specific chronological order of where this game fits into the Zelda timeline.
