Mass Effect: Paragon Lost Joins Anime Scene

EA are ushering in a new way to continue living in the Mass Effect Universe with their latest anime based off of a video game.

We€™ve had Dead Space: Downfall and Aftermath. Then we got Dante€™s Inferno: An Animated Epic. Now as the Mass Effect reaches its conclusion in the final game in the series, EA are ushering in a new way to continue living in the Mass Effect Universe with their latest anime based off of a video game. Mass Effect: Paragon Lost is a prequel that follows James Vega, the latest character to be introduce into the series, in his early career with the as an Alliance Marine. Vega leads a squad of elite Special Forces against The Collectors, a threat that has been brief seen in the game. Vega and his squad must protect a small colony against The Collectors located in a remote star system. Attendees at the annual SXSW event in Austin got there first glimpse of this latest foray into the Mass Effect Universe over the weekend complete with sketches, art and face time with the creators of the film. How well this latest entry does remains to be seen. The Other entries into the genre have received mixed reactions from critics and fans alike, the best of which was Dante€™s Inferno, the worst the Dead Space series. Expect a tentative 2012 release date. Also on the books for EA is a Dragon Age Anime which is slated for a 2012 release
