MAX PAYNE 3 Will Be Released May 15th
Coming three days later in the UK on May 18th.
Today Rockstar finally announced the release date of Max Payne 3 but unfortunately we will have to wait a little longer to get our hands on it as the game has been delayed slightly. Max Payne 3 will now be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 15th in the United States and May 18th internationally. The PC version of the game will be released on May 29th in the U.S. and June 1st internationally. Strauss Zelnick Chairman and CEO of Take-Two talked about the delay: "We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly, and this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our Company. Max Payne 3 promises to be one of our most exciting releases to date, and we are confident that consumers will once again be amazed by Rockstar's ability to take interactive entertainment to another level."Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games had this to say about Max Payne 3:
"Max Payne 3 brings powerful storytelling back to the action-shooter genre." And that "Rockstar Studios are delivering a game that's both incredibly cinematic and very, very intense to play."This delay was expected for a couple of reasons; first being the Max Payne 3 was scheduled to be released on the same day as Mass Effect 3 (March 6th) one of the major titles of the year. Also, Rockstar has become synonymous with the month of May; the past two straight years they have released both Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire over the same period. So it has been assumed that Rockstar would most likely push the initial release date for Max Payne 3 back to May. At this point though, I trust Rockstar and if they think a game needs to be delayed, I have no qualms about it or reasons to think otherwise.
