NBA 2K18: 7 Players With Surprisingly Low Ratings
The ratings for 2K18 are in, and some people are NOT going to be happy...
The latest instalment of the ever impressive NBA 2K series has finally hit shelves, with plenty on offer for both experienced players and newcomers to get their teeth into.
2K’s latest offering sees an improvement across all game modes, including heavy investment into the MyCareer mode and tons of new additions to the always enjoyable MyTeam. The latter allows you to build teams through completing challenges and investing in virtual currency to unlock packs of new players.
One of the most exciting parts of playing any new NBA 2K game is getting hold of your favourite players and taking to the court to get a flavour for how good they are. The game’s ratings system is always something which comes under scrutiny from fans, who often take to social media to reveal their surprise or frustrations at what they consider inaccurate grades and ratings for players.
While there are always going to be disagreements from NBA and 2K fans on this topic, some of the ratings in this year’s offering have raised some eyebrows due to them being surprisingly on the low side.
Who has been underestimated? Who has an argument for being higher in the stats? Let’s take a look…
7. Andrew Wiggins - 86
It’s somewhat of a surprise to see Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Andrew Wiggins come in with a rating in the mid-80s.
The 22-year-old had a standout season last year for the Wolves, hitting career highs in points per game, percentage of three pointers made, and assists per game. Along with his teammates Karl Anthony Towns and new addition Jimmy Butler, Wiggins will be hopeful of guiding the Wolves to the playoffs this season.
His rating of 86 though sees him come in four and five points behind his teammates in 2K18, and behind the likes of Kyle Lowry and Nikola Jokic. Wiggins’ fans and maybe the man himself would make a strong argument for being above those two, and it’s hard to disagree that he might have been undersold this year.
