Next CALL OF JUAREZ Headed Back West?

Ubisoft may be planing a return to the old wild west for their originally traditional gun-slinging franchise Call of Juarez. Earlier this year Ubisoft released Call of Juarez: The Cartel a game that was set in present day, a major departure for the franchise which until this game had been set strictly in the old west. Well it now appears that Call of Juarez: The Cartel did enough damage to the franchise direction. In a recent survey taken by players of Call of Juarez: The Cartel, Ubisoft asked about certain set pieces for their next game here is a list of them:

"hunting an outlaw in the rocky mountains, rescuing an innocent man about to be hanged, a gun duel in the empty main street of a town against your worst enemy, and a gunfight in a saloon after a poker game".
Now to me this sounds like the next Call of Juarez game will be headed back to the old west, where it probably should have stayed. However, all of this is just rumor at this time as nothing has been confirmed. Would taking the Call of Juarez series back to the old west save the franchise or has there been too much damage done for the franchise to be saved?
