PES 2019: 10 Tips To Play Like A Boss

8. Double Up On Counter Attacks

Don't forget that there's a handy method to doubling up on attackers. A quick press of square on PS4 or X on Xbox One (using the game's default control system, that is. It's circle and B respectively if not) will send a teammate crashing towards a rival with the ball at his feet.

This tends to make the CPU focus more on that player, meaning it's easier for the one you're controlling to stick a leg in and take possession.

Doubling up on opposition defenders can also help stem the flow of teams who prefer counter-attacking. This is particularly useful when deploying wing backs, and it means they're less likely to jog back to their default position when they lose the ball. In effect, they become extra attackers who pressurise and win it back smartly.

So many players forget about this simple tip. It can dig you out of tricky situations, comes in useful when using a high press system and lessens the blow of an attack breaking down. Bonus tip: if you plan to go two against one often, make sure your midfield is packed enough that one failed press won't cut out the middle of the park completely.
