For the first six generations of the Pokémon gaming franchise, the structure was very similar. To get the the Pokémon League and battle the Eilte Four, the trainer has to tackle and defeat eight gym leaders throughout the region, each a master of a different Pokémon type. Each of these battles act as somewhat of a chapter in the game, in that you can't move on until the task is complete.

Though generation seven took a different approach, eliminating gym leaders all together, the Galar region will take us back to the norm. The key to defeating the toughest trainers in the game is knowing them, and properly preparing for them.
