Pokémon Sword & Shield - 10 Best New Pokémon
1. Toxtricity
Toxtricity comes with two forms, depending on Toxel’s Nature, but if we’re splitting hairs let’s say it’s technically the Amped Form which tops the list here.
You get Toxel on Route 5 from an NPC, and like Snom and Applin, it’s a pretty poor Pokémon in battle. Once again though, it’s well worth sticking with to get gorgeously cool Toxtricity. As well as being great in battle and having a useful Poison Electric typing, Toxtricity’s smile when you make a curry it likes is far and away the best in the game.
It’s worth having one in your team for that alone.
Based on a punk rocker, the Amped Form is the wild lead guitarist while the Low Key form is the more rhythmic bass player. It’s a perfect example of an inspiration being a jumping off point while still introducing fresh, independent ideas.
With 502 base stats, Toxtricity is a handy teammate too, barring its x4 weakness to Ground. That aside, its strength in battle, ease of access and popular design ensures it’s likely to be one of the key takeaways from this generation. The punk rock poison lizard will do Galar proud.
