PS Vita Remote Play To Be Featured In All PS4 Games

ps vita kill zone It is no secred that the Playstation Vita has been struggling, but the launch of the Playstation 4 could give the powerful handheld a boost. Eurogamer has reported that a trusted Playstation 4 developer has stated that Sony is requiring Vita Remote Play for all PS4 games, minus those that do not use the PS4 eye peripheral. On the heels of E3, this is a big announcement which further illustrates the fact that the big three (MS, Sony, Nintendo) feel as if the next gen of gaming will be won on multiple screens. If it works properly, this will put the PS4 on par with the Wii U's game pad set up, and could also be an asset against the plans that Microsoft has with its SmartGlass App.. We'll have to see how developers and publishers feel about this. Remote Play is not a new feature, but most PS3 games do not support it. The architecture of the PS4 has been billed as a system which will communicate more effectively with the Vita than that of the PS3 (due to the Cell processor and other tech), so on paper it sounds like it would not add too much development time. But in an era when publishers are asking developers to work under tighter budgets and quicker time cycles, only time will tell. For those who do not know, remote play and cross play are not the same thing. Remote Play allows you to play PS3 games on your Vita using a WiFi network, while Cross Play allows you to share your save files between the systems and continue your game wherever you are. The success of Remote Play will also be contingent on the strength of your internet connection. There have been many complaints about the execution of Remote Play, but with Gaikai under the Sony umbrella, one has to think that they'll find a way to make it work. So, does this news sway you more towards a PS4 or Vita? Or have you settled on the XBox One or Wii U? Let us know below.
