Resident Evil 3: 16 Best Secrets You Need To Know
14. Easter Egg Posters
There are a ton of references to Capcom games of the past in Resident Evil 3 and it would be exhausting to list all of them. However, here are the ones that stood out to me.
Air Combat 1942 is obviously a reference to the old top-down shooting game 1942, but the poster itself is taken straight from the Top Gun movie poster.
Mars Carlisle's Off Duty is a reference to Captain Commando (it's his actual name in the comic spin-offs) and the poster is a copy of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
The Magic: The Gathering style card game Arthur is a reference to the Ghosts 'n' Goblins/Ghouls 'n' Ghosts franchise of games.
Monster Shooter is a reference to Monster Hunter plus as a dig at the on-rails shooter Resident Evil games that Capcom made.
Megaman's Dr Wily and Dr Light are having a debate about whether robots will surpass humanity according to a poster in the subway.
One of our favourites is hidden away in the Must Read Comic Books poster in the subway, which has references to Mega Man, Black Tiger, and Street Fighter. Also included there is an issue of Living Corpses where lead character Sherry encounters a new survivor.
