S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Cancelled?

GSC Game World is shutting down?

reports, GSC Game World the makers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 are shutting their doors and as a result the game has essentially been cancelled. Some are reporting that the CEO of GSC Game World Sergei Grigorovich was unhappy with the progress being made on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and decided to shut down the company. Another rumored reason for the closure was apparently because of the cost for developing on PC only and a publisher deal to develop for consoles fell through (although this is unconfirmed). However, it does seem to now be a fact that GSC Game World is closing its' doors and not just a rumor anymore. There has been no "official" word but when nobody is refuting that an entire company has shut down, you can probably consider it a done deal. I know a lot of people were looking forward to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and this has to be devastating to a lot of fans of the game. However, there is some hope, sometimes when a developer shuts down and a project is cancelled, another publisher or development team will come along and buy the rights to the game and finish it; so there is some hope.
