Saints Row 4 To Have "Broader Appeal"

Ex-THQ executive Danny Bilson teases some new features and a "broader appeal" in Saints Row 4.

When the previous game in the series features a floppy purple dildo as a weapon, it's hard to see how Saints Row 4 can possibly be any broader. Yet, surprisingly THQ's Danny Bilson isn't talking about the broad humour of the series, but rather the broadness of its content. Speaking to Eurogamer in one of his last interviews as a THQ executive, Danny Bilson talked with candour about upcoming projects from the fledgling publisher. While it remains unclear as to why he recently left the company, the revealing interview reveals some key details about upcoming games. He describes Saints Row 4 as having a €œbroader appeal€ and also explains that it €œexpands the appeal of the game€. Following the success of Saints Row: The Third, THQ were quick to announce that a fourth entry was already in development, a statement which was later backed up by listing on a developers CV on LinkedIn. Despite his frequent attempts to remain tight-lipped on Saints Row 4, Bilson€™s comments provide an early idea of the new direction for the open world sequel. €œI love what they're doing with 4. It expands the appeal of the game. It has all the stuff you love, plus more stuff you've never seen in any game€ Bilson says. He goes on to say "Every sequel has got to be better than the one before and have more value and more fun. The team is working really hard towards that right now very diligently." Sadly, it€™s unlikely we€™ll see any of Saints Row 4 in action just yet, with Bilson saying €œI'm sure we're a year away from really talking about it€. ____________
