The 20 Worst Games Of 2025

3. Scar-Lead Salvation

Scar-Lead Salvation sends us into action as Willow Martin, an anime-style, amnesiac soldier of the future, who must escape a strange factory full of hostile killer robots. And there’s not a whole lot more to it.

On the surface of it, Scar-Lead’s visual design and levels look interesting, but once you’re actually in and playing you realise just how simple and uninventive they are, with very basic and blocky layouts, and lack of any real depth, textures or attempts to make something that is graphically worthwhile or impressive.

The levels are procedurally generated, and they don’t just look it, they feel it. The game is mind-bogglingly repetitive, forcing you to face the same rooms with the same enemies over and over again. And it doesn’t have anything to counterbalance this, as the physics are simple and familiar, and the combat basically point and shoot.

Add to this the weird torn suit effect that gradually degrades Willow’s outfit down to her underwear, and this game feels like something you played on Newgrounds back in ‘07, rather than a contemporary release by a serious publisher.
