Two New Pokemon Games Announced

Nintendo announce plans to release Pokemon White Version 2 and Pokemon Black Version 2...

In news that will shock no one, Nintendo have announced that more Pokemon games are headed our way. It's standard practice with the series now to release two games and then follow up on these later with a third iteration. For example after Pokemon Diamond and Pearl they followed it up with Pokemon Platinum.

However what's different about it this time is gamers will be getting not one new game, but two. It also appears they will be direct sequels to the latest games, having been named Pokemon White Version 2 and Pokemon Black Version 2. What this means is unclear and certainly brings up more questions than it answers. Will they be the same games but enhanced, with a few extras? Or do they offer up a continuation of the original's story and provide a whole new adventure? Or ultimately is it all because Pokemon Grey just sounded stupid?

Expect more details to emerge as the year goes by. What we do know at this point is the games will be released this June on Japanese DS systems.
