Kharn the Betrayer was first introduced to Warhammer 40,000 in the 2nd edition codex back in 1996 and is still the most savage of the Champions of Chaos. With his legendary battlecry “KILL! MAIM! BURN! he has torn across the galaxy and hearts of Warhammer community alike.

Aaron Dembski-Bowden has done an incredible job exploring the man before he became the avatar of the Blood God and his close relationship with his gene-father, Angron.

This story follows the Word Bearers and World Eaters Legion as they try to cripple the Ultramarines in their home system of Ultramar.

This is just a backdrop to the true story of Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters, as his brother Lorgar leads him to down the path to daemonhood and away from the Emperors truth. Oh, and Angron stops a TITAN with one hand…

But what Aaron explores most deeply is how poorly the Emperor dealt with his children. It seems insane to feel sorry for Angron who is the physical embodiment of pure rage, but when you read of how the emperor tore him away from his adopted family in their time of need you can feel why he hates him so deeply.
