One of the best characters in WWE 2K16 is 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. That should come as no surprise, because Austin is the title character of the entire game, used to help promote it by 2K Sports. The main mode in the game revolves around the man's career, so it's only natural that he would be given a character who has a pick-up-and-play element to him. There are multiple variations of Austin in the game, including his old 'Superstar' and 'Stunning' Steve Austin guises from ECW and WCW respectively. The latter holds a 85 rating, whilst the 'Superstar' one harnesses an overall ranking of 87. This is designed to reflect the progression of the man, given that the ECW run came later in his career. Then, players have the choice to play as Austin from 1997 and 2003. '97 has a 90 rating, and '03 has an 89. The best is the modern incarnation, which seems to be a combination of all the classic ones. That character has a rating of 94, making it one of the best in the game. Austin's power/health bar doesn't go down quite as quickly as the others, and his momentum fills up quickly.
