WWE 2K17: 10 Most Anticipated Playable Superstars
The cream of the crop from the biggest roster in history...
Get this right, WWE 2K17's roster is bigger than 2K16's... how is that even possible? We were promised 120 unique character with last year's game and by the time all of the DLC packs had been released, we ended up with way over that total. It was an embarrassment of riches us WWE gamers haven't experienced before. It looks like being something we'll have to be getting used to though...
Mark Little, Executive Producer of 2K17 promised that we'd be getting more unique characters to play with this year and he's duly delivered. After the fifth and final Suplex City Census was revealed earlier this week, a grand total of 136 characters will be included in the basic version of the new game - that's not the mention the Superstars made available in the special NXT version of the game as well as those who will be made available in DLC packs.
The nature of being a WWE Superstar means our favourite grapplers are nothing more than cogs in a machine. When a certain cog becomes old and used it, it's replaced by a younger, newer cog and the machine keeps on turning. That being said, it's the new cogs, if you will, that have WWE's gaming universe chomping at the bit ahead of 2K17's release in just over a month's time.
Here are the most anticipated playable Superstars who will be in 2K17...
10. The Four Horsewomen
Let's get these lovely ladies out of the way early, shall we? We're aware of that debacle surrounding Becky Lynch, Bayley, Charlotte and Sasha Banks as they were inexplicably left out of WWE 2K16, aren't we?
Bryce Yang, WWE Brand Director at 2K, told WhatCulture that this was due to timing. Presumably, the ladies made their main roster debut too close to the game's release date to be included. We all accepted this reason from Bryce until we saw Samoa Joe had been included in the Future Stars DLC pack. Joe, of course, made his NXT debut at the end of May 2015... by this time, the Four Horsewomen were established names in NXT and were on the brink of making their respective main roster bows - apart from Bayley of course. How does that make any sense? Surely that means there could have been a Four Horsewomen DLC pack at the very least! Surely 2K would have know that this DLC would have broken records...
Thankfully however, the awesome foursome have been included in the basic version of this year's game. GET THE F**K IN THERE! Who'll be setting up a Fatal 4-Way between them at WrestleMania as soon as they can? I will...
