Keeping tabs on WWE's real-life comings and goings must be an annual headache for 2K's producers. Last time, they...struggled to keep up-to-date, and that meant 2K22's roster was laughably old hat by the time the game hit shelves/online store fronts.

It's hard to sling sh*t at 2K for this considering WWE's regular upheaval, but they need to do something to ensure the characters available are as up-to-the-minute as possible. Imagine, for example, that FIFA launched with last season's team sheets. People would have a conniption fit, and rightly so.

Or, picture EA's footy sim releasing with updated rosters but last year's kits. 2K, regrettably, suffer from the fact that wrestling is ever-changing. The rumour mill wants to remedy this by seeing 2K offer up free downloadable patches/packs post-release that brings things in line with March 2023.

That'd give 2K some room to breathe, let them have their familiar cut off point and go some way to keeping the game's character list relevant.
