Xbox Game Pass: 10 Essential 360 & Xbox Games You Must Play

Rather unfairly knocked about by some critics upon release for not being quite the game they thought it was going to be, Game Pass lets you rediscover this overlooked gem from Tim Schafer.

Laced with all the metal that could be mustered, Brutal Legend sees you play roadie Eddie Riggs (magnificently voiced by Jack Black) as he is transported to a fantasy world that's as if every heavy metal album cover ever conceived had been fused together.

Featuring an astonishing soundtrack of over 100 metal songs curated for the game by Tim Schafer himself, as well as performances from Lemmy, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Halford, and others, the game is a must play for any metalheads out there.

And then there's the gameplay: those aforementioned critics, or at least those down on the game, weren't expecting a blend of driving, hack and slash, and some RTS elements.

Overall, contrary to the contemporaneous assessment, these elements are all well handled. The game is that all-important thing: FUN.
