10 Horror Movie Twists We All Saw Coming

8. The Secret Apprentice - Saw 3D

Every Saw entry ends in a huge "gotcha" moment that leaves the audience reeling. Since Saw 3D was the last entry in the saga - at least, at the time - die-hard fans expected it to end with the biggest shocker yet.

Sure enough, the "final" sequel concludes with the first film's protagonist, Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes), revealing himself as Jigsaw's secret apprentice.

Even though it's a nice attempt to bring the Saw series full-circle, the unveiling wasn't that much of a jawdropper. Since this was the first time the character has appeared in the franchise since the first instalment, fans suspected Gordon would play a much bigger role in the story than just a glorified cameo.

Annoyingly, this twist would've been less predictable if Gordon didn't show up until the very end. But by having him pop up in two random scenes without adding anything to the mix, it was no surprise when he was revealed as a surprise villain at the last minute.

And since Elwes' involvement in the picture was anything but hush-hush, people could deduce this twist without seeing the movie.
