When the first Paranormal Activity burst onto the scene in 2007, it was a revelation. It took the idea of a found footage movie and applied it to a domestic setting, telling the story of a couple trying to catch the evil spirits invading their home with a series of security cameras.

The series quickly ran out of steam, but for a brief moment, it was on top of the world.

The couple in question are Katie (Katie Featherston), who actually works to stop the infestation, and Micah (Micah Sloat), who might be the worst person ever.

Katie knows that the demons are real, as she has been haunted by them ever since she was a kid. You'd think that her partner would be sympathetic to her years-long trauma, but you'd be wrong.

Instead, Micah takes nothing seriously, making jokey comments, going against instructions given to him by a psychic, and even bringing a goddamn Ouija board into the house! Why would you do that? That's definitely going to make things worse!

On the bright side, Micah finds out that the demons are real when they possess Katie and brutally murder him.
