10 More Horror Movie Openings NOBODY Saw Coming

From the very first scene, Kim Ki-duk's visceral drama makes it unmistakably clear this story isn't for the faint of heart. Moebius beings with a mother discovering her husband has been cheating on her, which leads to a heated argument.

At this point, horror veterans may try to figure out where this setup will lead to. Will the mother go berserk and kill her unfaithful spouse? Will she butcher her whole family or take her own life?

However, the prologue goes in a direction far darker than anyone could imagine. Overwhelmed by rage, the mother goes to her son's room and... tries to have sex with him. (Trust me. It gets worse.)

Rejecting her advances, the mother uses a knife to slice off his you-know-what. Just when it seems like the scene couldn't possibly become any more disturbing, she swallows her son's genitalia.

What makes this scene so effective is the false belief we've just witnessed the most shocking thing possible... only to see something much worse immediately after.

Even though Moebius is a deeply unsettling film, nothing has the same impact as this messed-up opening.
