8. Shepard Leopold - Death of a Unicorn
A24's new horror-comedy Death of a Unicorn is packed to the gills with wholly unlikeable characters entirely by design, such that the audience just can't wait to see each of them die horribly. And right at the top of the douche-pile of Shepard Leopold (Will Poulter), the son of pharma CEO Odell Leopold (Richard E. Grant), and an unrepentant scumbag who finds himself obsessed with exploiting the unicorns' magical healing properties for massive financial gain.
At the film's end, though, Shepard certainly gets what's coming to him. He's stabbed by Elliott (Paul Rudd) and, after stumbling around gravely wounded, is kicked in the face by one of the unicorns, sending him flying many feet into the air.
And of course, what goes up must come down, with Shepard then faceplanting on the unforgiving concrete floor, causing his head to leak blood like a faucet, killing him instantly, to say nothing of the massive head injuries sustained.
Truly, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
