Released in 1983, The first Sleepaway Camp was an attempt to hop on the slasher craze started by the likes of Halloween and Friday the 13th. It famously featured a twist ending, in which young killer Angela was actually revealed to be her twin brother Peter, having been raised female after Peter died some years prior.

In that movie, Angela/Peter was played by Felissa Rose. Five years later, a second Sleepaway Camp was made, set five years after the events of the first picture. So, Rose could come back and reprise the role, right? Right?

Instead of Rose returning to finish her story, Angela was portrayed in Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers by Pamela Springsteen, who did a fairly decent job of playing a sadistic murderer who killed for the hell of it. There was just one problem - she didn’t feel like Angela at all.

So much of her previous characterisation had disappeared, including the whole Peter revelation, which wasn’t a focal point of Unhappy Campers at all. Springsteen might have played a convincing villain, but it shouldn’t have been this one.
