There's no more divisive death in the Scream franchise than that of Randy (Jamie Kennedy) in Scream 2, where the otherwise genre-savvy film lover gets pulled into a van in broad daylight and hacked to pieces by Ghostface.

And Scream 3 couldn't help but reference the vitriolic fan response to Randy's demise, as after Cotton is killed at the start of the film, Tyson Fox (Deon Richmond) comments that Cotton's killer was "probably some psycho fan pissed off they killed Randy in Stab 2."

Wes Craven reportedly even received hate mail for Randy's death, and so decided to placate angry fans by giving him a posthumous cameo in Scream 3, appearing via a videotape he recorded prior to his demise.
