10 Bands That Never Made A Bad Album

4. Nirvana

It didn't matter what music you listened to in the '90s: chances are you were into Nirvana. When rock was in dire need of a switch up after hair metal far overstood its welcome, here came Kurt Cobain talking about how fake the music industry was and how the next few years were about to get a lot more real. They were the golden children of the Seattle scene, but the mammoth weight of a generation was more than Kurt was ready to handle.

As much as their early work from Bleach set the stage for that grimy Seattle sound, Nevermind was where everything was turned on its head, having the perfect combination of pop hooks and rock edge to get almost any stripe of music fan bobbing their head along to tracks like Smells Like Teen Spirit and In Bloom. Kurt didn't have any time for his newfound fans though, getting more uncomfortable with his fame until he finally lashed out on In Utero, which still remains a fan favorite for just how openly honest it is.

For all of the great songs though, the lyrical content should have been a warning, with Kurt growing more morose as the days went on, hooking himself on heroin before eventually committing suicide in 1994 when things started to get way too out of proportion. Though Kurt may never have found a solution to his inner torment, these songs have helped millions of people find their own peace.
