2. Paul And John Recorded Music Together After The Breakup
One of the great tragedies of music is that John Lennon's untimely death robbed the world of any potential reunion of the Beatles.
Now, of course, Lennon was alive for ten years between the group's split and his murder, but for much of that period, he engaged in a very public feud with Paul, with the pair laying the foundation for modern diss tracks by trading barbs in their solo music.
Despite all of the fab four never coming together again to record music together, there are examples of every combination of Beatles recording tracks together following the breakup. That is, other than John and Paul.
Well, at least officially.
During the period in which popular music's most famous songwriting duo reestablished their friendship, the pair actually engaged in a jamming session together in 1974, accompanied by Stevie Wonder and several other established musicians, that was captured on a bootleg recording.
Unfortunately, those hoping for another Lennon-McCartney masterpiece from A Toot and a Snore in '74 as it came to be known will likely be disappointed. Lennon was in the midst of an addiciton to cocaine, and spends much of the session complaining about the sound in his headphones.
