10 Most Disturbing Hard Rock Songs Ever Released

7. Antichrist Superstar - Marilyn Manson

By the midpoint of the '90s, modern rock was in dire need of an upgrade. With grunge falling by the wayside and pop punk providing a niche audience with catchy tunes, the grandiose nature of the rockstar felt like a distant vision of the past. Amidst all the lackluster pop rock acts, Marilyn Manson emerged looking like he was ripped straight from your nightmares.

Pretty much any of Marilyn's classic songs have "disturbing" prestamped on them, but the realest form of horror he has ever made has to be "Antichrist Superstar." Taken from the concept album of the same name, this is the point in the album where our demon protagonist descends upon the Earth, looking to lay waste to anything holy that stands in his way. The song itself was already scary on its own, but it got much more real once Manson hit the stage.

Donning a business suit, this song became the template for the rest of the band's stage show, where Manson himself would recite the lyrics as if he were a fascist dictator leading a rally. This ended up culminated with Manson tearing up the Bible and throwing it in the crowd, as if to shun any religious dissention that was in his path. '90s rock may have been fluctuating, but after Manson found his army, the time had come for bitter things.
