10 Most Popular ANTI-Rockstars

2. George Harrison

At the start of the British Invasion, it's safe to say that the collective rock world had a heart attack when seeing the Beatles for the first time. As soon as these lads from Liverpool set the world on fire on the Ed Sullivan Show, the works of John Lennon and Paul McCartney announced what the new guard of rock music was going to look like for the remainder of the decade. However, there's always the Quiet Beatle that you have to watch out for.

Compared to the other distinct personalities of the Fab Four, George Harrison was always the most disaffected by their newfound celebrity. Though it was virtually impossible to escape the world of Beatlemania across the early '60s, George was always fairly reserved both on and off stage, never really bothering to go wild like Lennon or McCartney. Even with Ringo Starr getting a few turns behind the mic, it was years before George even offered his own material to include on an album, thinking that the formula was working just fine.

When he did step up to the plate though, it was with songs for the ages, from the glorious love song behind Something to the sad lament of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. As the solo years went on, George was still the same man we'd always known, just as content to pick up a guitar and jam with friends rather than play to an arena of people. For as much as rock and roll can seem fun, George Harrison is proof that we still all live the same life.
