10 Perfect Country Music Albums With No Bad Songs
4. Golden Hour - Kacey Musgraves
Looking at the country charts now, it seems a lot different than the stuff that we got back in the day. As opposed to people like Willie Nelson who were in it for the long haul, there are more than a few people who are looking to just make a few bangers and not really do anything beyond that. For all of the Sam Hunts of the world though, we should be counting our blessings that we have someone like Kacey Musgraves pushing the genre forward.
Because let's face it, this is still one of the most warped views of country that we have gotten in a while. Outside of the more acoustic driven songs throughout the record, there are traces of pop across every track on here, with High Horse practically playing into disco territory with its four on the floor beat.
What makes this a country album though is the lyrical content, with each song detailing some sort of homegrown happiness that makes you want to get up every morning. From talking about time spent with her mother to telling off her man, Kacey understands that you have to have some heart in your song if you really want to connect with people. While the majority of country singers like to pride themselves on songs about heartache, this is a ray of sunshine that you can always count on for bringing a smile to your face.
