3. Psychic Surgery

Whilst some of the therapies on this list are recommended by well-meaning but misguided quacks, psychic therapy is basically medical fraud.

Practitioners claim that they were able to remove tumours and diseased tissue from the body without using surgical tools or making any cuts to the skin at all. This sounds great for someone with a fear of going under the knife and would certainly cut the risk of infection but, unfortunately, it is nothing more than a conjuring trick.

The "surgeons" would use animal organs and blood packs to make it appear as though they were removing tissue. This is undoubtedly a bit of a cheap trick, but it's also highly dangerous.

If a doctor told you that they had removed your tumour and that you could end treatment, but had in fact done no such thing, then you would continue to die of a deadly disease that might have otherwise been cured, just without knowing it.
