10 Amazing Things That Have Been Crowdsourced

1. Veronica Mars

The Veronica Mars movie campaign has given hope to every fan of a series which they've fought to save from cancellation. The series lasted for 64 episodes across 3 seasons back between 2004 and 2007. The fans never gave up on it, and thankfully neither did creator Rob Thomas, who put up a hopeful Kickstarter campaign back in March 2013. It ended up closing with a grand total of $5,702,153 on Kickstarter and set new records for the highest funded film on the site as well as the most project backers €“ some 91,585 contributed. There were also records set for the speed of the campaign, in particular the rate that the project reached both $1 and $2 million. It was money well spent €“ the trailer looks amazing as you can see here €“ and there is no way that it could possibly avoid making money. The volume of press the project received was virtually free advertising and it'll get major press coverage once again when it is released this year. When you do go and see it, watch out for the waiter/waitress in a scene where Veronica is eating dinner with her boyfriend €“ because that'll be the person who donated more than $10,000. On the off chance that you haven't yet seen the trailer, here it is...
