10 Bizarre Origins Of Your Favourite Cartoon Characters

1. Hello Kitty Is Not A Cat

Everything you've ever been told is a lie. How can we trust anyone in a world where a character called Hello Kitty, who looks like a kitty, isn't actually a kitty at all? No, the original Sanrio character is actually known as "Kitty White", a young British girl born in the suburbs of London. We're confused too. According to the creators, she's a bright, kind-hearted little girl with a penchant for baking cookings and collecting cute stuff. Her favourite subjects in school are English, music and art, and it seems no one in her school down South have noticed the fact she is a CAT. The startling news emerged in August 2014, when Sanrio told an anthropologist from the University of Hawaii that Kitty White had never been a human, and she was not simply a cat, leaving us more confused than ever. Well you didn't think a Japanese cartoon character was going to 100% normal, did you?
