There's a famous adage that you should never bring a knife to a gunfight. Derrick Mosley apparently hadn't ever heard that one though, as he went one step further and brought a baseball bat to a gun store. Mosley strolled into the Southwest Beaverton Discount Gun Sales shop in late July last year, and smashed one of the display cabinets with the bat. As he grabbed for the merchandise, the shop owner pulled his own gun and pointed it directly at Mosley. The shop owner ordered Mosley to the floor, who dropped the baseball bat and knife he was carrying. Police arrived and took Mosley away, later charging him with first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, second-degree criminal mischief and unlawful possession of a firearm.
