Microwavable meals from supermarkets are immensely popular, and there are a high number of establishments dedicated purely to takeaway meals rather than having sit-in restaurants. Of course, Watkins also thought that meals would be delivered on plates that would then have to be returned, rather than the disposable containers that are generally used.
