10 Crazy World Records You Won't Believe Exist

9. The First Person Ever To Be Photographed

first photograph While not being as insane or potentially dangerous as our first entry, this one is just plain awesome. In 1838, cameras weren't as good as they are now. It could take upwards of ten minutes to get the right amount of exposure, and even longer to upload the photo to Instagram or Facebook. Due to a photograph taking so long, there weren't exactly many people eager to sit still all that time to get their picture taken. Except for one guy on the Boulevard du Temple in Paris who somehow stood almost perfectly still while he was getting his shoes shined. boulevard Despite it being a busy street, all the people and traffic don't show up because of, well, the long exposure time. Not even the man doing the actual shoe shining is visible. Just the stoic, firm legged man who didn't budge, and thus became the first human ever photographed. And we have no idea who he is.
