10 Crazy World Records You Won't Believe Exist

7. Winning An Oscar For Playing An Oscar Winner

hepburn blanchett If you don't remember Martin Scorsese's 2004 movie The Aviator, it was the movie with the popsicle dude from Titanic playing that insane rich guy who made movies and airplanes. Additionally, it starred Galadriel from Lord of the Rings playing the Hepburn that was not Audrey. Katharine! Katharine Hepburn, that was her name. The interesting thing about Katharine Hepburn is that she holds the record for most Academy Awards for acting, raking in four of the awards (with eight more nominations). In fact, she also has the record for longest time span between first and last Oscar win (48 years!), and holds these records despite being actually really creepy.
Only one year after her death came Martin Scorsese's film, in which Cate Blanchett played her (opposite Leonardo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes). Blanchett's role received rave reviews, and she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress at the following Oscar ceremony. She won, thus becoming the only person to win an Academy Award for playing an Academy Award winner.
