The Dare: A group of five young men at Brighton beach took part in a dare to stand by the water's edge when the sea was rough. How wrong did it go? As you might expect from the dare, things quickly turned sour when one of the friends, Dan Nicholls, was swept into the water by a wave. Another member of the group, Freddie Reynolds, stripped off and dived in after his friend in an attempt to rescue him. Sadly, both men were swept away by the strong waves, taken out to sea. The rest of the friends claim to have seen Nicholls and Reynolds together in the water, calling for emergency services as they lost sight of them.
