So basically, men wore pubes on their hats to boost their ego. Imagine being intimate with someone and then having them ask you if they can cut off some of your pubes? Either way the women would probably be offended because the man would either ask to trim a bit of your pubic hair to wear (which is weird), or they wouldn't ask you to take some home to show off; in which case you would feel neglected and you really wanted to be a conquest.
