4. Twitter Defines You By Your Followers
We've all done it. You're recommended someone on Twitter, so you click on their profile. You then see that they've only got eleven followers. You realise that you can't be missing much by not following them, so you don't bother. If you click on someone's Tumblr blog though, you can't see how many people follow them. Which is nice to keep that private: if you're one of those people that follows everyone in the hope that a few of them will follow you back, you can keep that private too. Tumblr doesn't judge you on how many followers you have as a blog, rather how many notes your posts receive: that's the first thing people see. Or to put it another way, it doesn't make a celebrity out of you, but out of your posts. That's why all the celebrities on Twitter.
