10. Welcome To Sochi!
Welcome to Sochi! The hypothetically speaking greatest Winter Olympics destination of all time; from its beautiful mountainous background and clear blue sky, to the bountiful forests, to the dilapidated infrastructure full of hidden dangers. Upon first arrival to Sochi, guests are greeted by a friendly, relatively modern airport terminal full of cheerful people and an abundance of modern amenities - but step outside and it's like falling down the rabbit hole to a horribly grim Wonderland. Visitors found a twisted, old land full of rubble, ruin and interesting things all around. The TV coverage of the Sochi Games focuses on the interiors of the cleverly decorated Olympic stadiums and tracks making them seem bright, colourful and full of joy while just a few blocks outside the Olympic complexes the actual state of the City of Sochi looks like it just emerged from another World War II. The streets are narrow, the walls filled with graffiti, with an abundance of beggars and panhandlers around every corner. A warm welcome to the "newly renovated" city? Not so much. However, the conditions of the infrastructure and social standing of Sochi earned our first #Sochifail.
