10 Highly Questionable Actions Committed By Barack Obama

2. Embassy Threat/Leno

111025_obamaleno8_ap_328 Alright, I honestly don't know why this doesn't bother more people. John McCain infamously said during his 2008 campaign for President that Barack Obama was "the most popular celebrity in Washington," something to which Democrats, including myself at the time, took some offense. A jab at his popularity at the time and his vision of change which inspired the American people to vote him into office, it's hard to not see the historical irony when, in the face of a potential attack on our embassies that lead to the closure of twenty two worldwide with possibly more to come, the President addressed the nation regarding these newest threats from... Studio 11 in Burbank? One thing that I'll admit I admire about President Obama is how he reaches out to young voters in ways like this, with talk show appearances and college campus visits among others, though I understand why some see these as generally controversial. Curiously enough, Tonight Show host Jay Leno is probably Obama's toughest critic on the late night circuit which makes me wonder why he even entertained the idea of having him as a guest now of all times, if he had any say at all, that is. When the consulate in Benghazi was attacked (which, believe me, I *will* get to), Obama addressed the nation from the Rose Garden. When Boston was attacked this past April, Obama addressed the nation at the memorial service. While I would have preferred the Oval Office since these were blatant acts of terror, despite his administration's staunchly conservative use of the word, they were still somewhat acceptably poignant settings for the occasion. However, in the face of what security officials are basically calling the scariest chatter since pre-9/11, this was no time to be sharing laughs with Leno, Mr. President. There's a time and a place for everything, and this was neither. I understand you were trying to reach out to a broad audience, but you would have reached the entire nation had you sat at your desk in the Oval Office and told us that we have little reason to fear.
